Audit and consulting firm Ebner Stolz has won ‘Social Media Networking Champion of the Year’ at the International Accounting Bulletin (IAB) Awards 2014. A member of Nexia International, the firm has 1,100 employees and 14 offices in Germany.
The IAB Awards celebrate worldwide best practice in the accounting profession. Ebner Stolz was recognised for the implementation of its social media strategy. Since 2013 this strategy has involved posting news and updates from the business world, interesting industry facts and responses to trends on multiple social media platforms.
Ebner Stolz has focused particularly on Facebook as a key vehicle for strengthening its brand. Its Facebook page includes a Nexia International app icon that helps to reinforce the firm’s connection with the Nexia global network.
Thaddaeus Schiller, Partner at Ebner Stolz, commented: “Interacting with social media represents a huge shift in how audiences connect with a firm. An increase in job applications to the firm provides the most significant indication that people value this two-way dialogue. We are delighted to win ‘Social Media Networking Champion of the Year’ in recognition of our efforts.”
The judges were particularly impressed by the firm’s increase in job applications in the past 12 months due to its social media campaigns and the collaboration between its social media, marketing and HR teams.
Among the judging panel were Sue Almond, Head of External Affairs at the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and Ian Ball, Chairman of the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy.
