Success for two Nexia International member firms at the IAB Awards

Nexia member firms, SKP Group won ‘Social Media Networking Champion of the Year’ and Nexia BT won ‘Advisory Firm of the Year’ at the International Accounting Bulletin (IAB) Awards 2015.

The IAB Awards, held on 1 October in London, celebrate worldwide best practice in the accounting profession. The awards focus on accounting networks and associations, as well as global innovations in audit, consulting, social media use and sustainability in individual member firms.

SKP Group was recognised for its creativity and innovation in the implementation of its social media strategy across all platforms, and its success in using social media to support the business strategy. SKP Group is a rapidly growing professional services firm with over 950 employees across six offices in India.

Manoj Gidwani, Partner at SKP commented: “We are extremely excited to have won ‘Social Media Networking Champion of the Year’. It is an honour to be recognised and awarded by the IAB, the only global publications covering the professional services field. This could not have been achieved without our partners and team leaders providing quality thought leadership material, and the efforts of our Communications and Business development team for their commitment to, and ownership of, our social media. Over the coming years, we hope to see even more activity and increased interaction through our social media and aim to continue providing meaningful information to assist businesses – not only in India but globally.”

Nexia BT was recognised for its advisory capabilities, expertise and success in helping clients. Ranked as the fifth largest audit firm and a leading mid-tier firm in Malta, it also operates internationally as a member of Nexia International.

Anita Aloisio, Partner at Nexia BT commented: “This award marks yet another major milestone for our firm and is another step in the delivery of the overall vision set in 2007 when we joined Nexia International. Since its inception five years ago, the Advisory Practice area has grown from strength to strength, building expertise across sectors from, land and sea to aviation.  It is thanks to the hard work of the Nexia BT team, our collaborators and supporters that we won this award. As we look forward to the future, we pride ourselves in developing a dynamic culture that promotes professional development for our staff.”

Among the judging panel were Jane Howard, Partner at Wragge Lawrence Graham & Co LLP, Ndungu Gathinji, former Chairman of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) and former IFAC Board Member, and Mark Koziel, Vice President - firm services & global alliances at the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
