Case study

Poland: Navigating Cross-Border Tax Compliance for an Industrial Combustion Equipment Supplier in the Oil & Gas Sector

The client

The Client is a company that designs, manufactures, and supplies industrial combustion equipment and provides associated services, particularly for the oil and gas, petrochemical, and refining sectors. The group specialises in providing burners, thermal oxidizers, and incineration systems for industrial applications such as refining, gas processing, and petrochemical production. Their products are used in fired heaters, reformers, crackers, and boilers, with a particular focus on supporting the oil and gas industries

The client challenge

The Client concluded a contract with one of the largest oil industry corporations in CEE and wanted to sell their products (including assembly on site) in Poland.

The solution

The business presence in Poland triggered relevant VAT and CIT registration obligations (including complex TP analysis) and assessment of different delivery scenarios of components across Europe and overseas.

Value

Nexia supported the Client at the stage of planning the transactions, fulfilment of reporting and compliance obligations. Moreover, a proactive approach of Nexia-members across Europe allowed the simplification of VAT recognition of executed chain transactions and allowed the Client to accurately navigate tax registrations in EU-countries.
